FINDING OUR FIRST IDEA
To start off the week we were tasked with finding a topic to work with on our ideation for a chemical product.

There were many sources to work with such a peer-reviewed, student projects and many more. We were absolutely inspired by the sheer creativity of our seniors and to see what they had come up with.

OUR IDEAS
ALGAE AND SEAWEED PURIFICATION
When you think of rivers and oceans you see clear waters filled with flora and fauna. This however isn't always the case, many rivers and lakes today are polluted with microorganisms that make them inhabitable to wildlife and that is what aspires us to investigate the possibility of purifying theses waters with the amazing properties of algae and seaweed.

BIO-REMEDIATION
This topic in particular was inspired to us by our lecturer showing us one of the projects that is put in place to clean up the waters of chemical plants which is to use microorganisms that eat up all the bacteria found in the water, making it clean before dumping it in the water. We wish to use this as a substitute if our algae and seaweed experiment fails. It's always good to have a plan B!

ALGAE BIOFUEL
Renewable energy was one of the ideas we had. By using algae biofuel, we can make biobatteries by powering it up with algae biofuel. This is a more renewable source of energy which is beneficial for the world today with the rise of global warming we should always try our best to reduce our carbon footprint in order for us to have a more sustainable future.

CONCLUSION
What have we decided to go with? What have we learnt?
We were initially very inspired by the purification of lakes and rivers which is why we wanted to go with the first idea of using algae and seaweed purification, but after some research we have found that we are unable to execute it in a way that makes it unique apart from basic purification by using seaweed in its original state.

Therefore, having found multiple reliable sources on algae biofuel, we have decided to go with that instead.
